Key Responsibilities

Partner with other data scientists to deliver the ongoing data science initiatives

Build Machine Learning models to solve business problems

Create readable and comprehensive documentation of your work

Implement new algorithms or tweak existing algorithms based on research papers

Work on POCs to establish the feasibility of solving problems the existing team has not yet worked on

Qualifications and skills

Pursuing or just finished a degree in relevant quantitative fields such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Data Science

Familiarity with Data Science and Machine Learning techniques and concepts (e.g. regression, classification, loss functions, evaluation metrics, ensembles, cross-validation)

Hands-on knowledge of Python and data science / ML packages

Familiarity with SQL – any hands-on experience is a big plus

Familiarity with Spark or any other big data processing framework is a plus

Good understanding of data structures and algorithms

Strong understanding of Statistics, Linear Algebra and Calculus

Ability to implement new algorithms from research papers

Good written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to learn new tools and techniques to get things done
