eBay hiring Job Description:

Ownership and the main point of contact for escalated sales tax refunds related to taxability issues and buyer exemptions

Collaborate with customer service to resolve customer-initiated sales/VAT tax inquiries

Assist US-based Indirect Tax Team in gathering and analyzing large data sets and other audit support documentation

Assist US-based Indirect Tax Team with other special projects or miscellaneous duties as assigned

Perform ad-hoc tax technical research

Requirements:

Experience with U.S. sales & use taxes is required, and knowledge of Canadian GST and additional global VAT systems is a plus

Capable of working independently while acting as part of a global tax team

Strong issue identification and mitigation skills

Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner both written and verbally

Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and tax research engines required

Experience with SharePoint, Tableau, Alteryx and other data-wrangling tools preferred

Experience with Vertex and/or other tax engines preferred

Basic Qualifications:

1-3 years of related indirect tax experience. Big 4 experience a plus

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in Finance, Information Systems, or Accounting. Advanced degree a plus
